When “we should connect more” keeps getting postponed

You get home tired, grab your phone, maybe put on Netflix, and suddenly the evening is gone. You’re next to each other, but not really with each other.

Most couples don’t get many natural moments for real conversation. It’s all logistics: work, groceries, who does what when. The deeper things don’t always come up on their own.

If you often think:

  • “We spend time together, but it doesn’t always feel quality.”

  • “We talk, but not always about the things that really matter.”

  • “I’d love a way to remember this season of our relationship, not just let it blur by.”

…then that’s exactly the gap A Year of Us is made to fill.

This guided couples journal gives you a simple structure you can actually stick to: one page a week, one clear prompt, one small moment to check in and write together.

Over time, those pages turn into:

  • regular, low‑pressure conversations that go a bit deeper

  • a physical memory book of your relationship, not just photos on your phone

  • a way to bring back the curiosity and warmth from your early days

From “we should connect more” to “this is our weekly thing” with a clever journal without needing big talks or perfect date nights.

52 Weeks To Feel Closer Than Ever
What you’ll find in the journal

A keepsake you made together

From the illustrated cover with two love birds to the inside spreads, this journal is made to feel precious, not like a random notebook. It’s something you can give as a present (for your anniversary, birthday, New Year or to celebrate Valentine’s Day) and then fill it together, knowing that, over time, it will hold a year’s worth of your shared story on paper.

One place for your shared plans, projects, and dreams

The first section gives you pages for the things you want to remember and build together: seasonal date ideas, a shared vision board, a two‑person habit tracker, favorite places, and lists of the things that make your relationship more fun.

Instead of ideas getting lost in apps and messages, you keep them in one place you both can open.

A year of fun, weekly prompts you can actually keep up with

The core of the journal is 52 prompts; one for each week you choose to use it. The right‑hand lined page is for your written messages; the left‑hand page is extra space for photos, tickets, sticky notes, or little drawings you add over time.

Together, you turn a small weekly check‑in into real conversation and a memory book that slowly fills up with your everyday moments.

Your two versions of “how we met”

There’s a short section where you each write your side of the story of how you met: “I remember the day that…” on one page, “And now, your side of the beginning of us…” on the other.

You get to see the same memory through two pairs of eyes, which often brings back details and feelings from those early days.

No rules and extra space to keep the momentum going

At the back, you’ll find 20 pages of extra lined and blank pages for whatever you want to add: love notes, reflections after a big week, lists of “firsts,” simple doodles, or small collages.
There are no strict rules on how to use the journal, which makes it easy to make it uniquely yours, not someone else’s idea of “perfect.”

Fits into busy weeks

You only need one page a week. You can start any time, skip a week, and come back without guilt. It’s flexible enough to work with real life, in no way it is designed as a perfect routine.

Works for different personalities

One of you might love writing, the other not so much. The mix of prompts, lists, and blank space means long paragraphs, quick bullet points, and doodles all feel welcome.

Turns small moments into memories

As you write and add photos, tickets, or little notes, your everyday weeks slowly turn into a memory book you can flip through later.

Makes talking feel easy

The prompts give you a clear starting point, so you’re not trying to come up with deep questions on the spot. You open the page, read, and you’re already talking about something that matters.

Feels like a truly thoughtful gift

Because you fill it together over time, it doesn’t feel like a one‑time present. It becomes an ongoing project you’ve shared, which is part of what makes it a beautiful gift for your anniversary, New Year or Valentine.

Why couples love this journal

How it works

Pick a simple weekly moment

Choose a time that already exists in your week: Sunday coffee, a quiet evening, or a slow Saturday morning. Keep the journal somewhere you both see it, so it’s easy to reach for without a big plan.

Add a little piece of your week

Use the extra page for a small memento: a photo, a ticket stub, a sticky note, a quick doodle, or a sentence about something that stood out. Over time, these small additions turn your weeks into your keepsake of that year.

Choose the next prompt together

Turn to the next page or choose your prompt from the content table, read the weekly question, and each add your thoughts. You can write side by side, swap the journal, or answer at different times on the same page, whatever feels natural.

There are no rules

There’s no “right” way to keep it. One person might write more than the other partner who prefers to add a short reaction to the weekly message.  The goal is to spend some intentional time reflecting on your relationship and what is to come.

Oh, and there is no need to keep the pages tidy.  Messy but genuine pages are the goal.

A note from the maker

Hi, I am the artist behind Artfoli.  I make artful things for slower days, bringing back some analog habits and moments into a day full of screens.  That sums up my brand’s mission.

A Year of Us grew out of that same wish, but this time for two people instead of one.

I wanted to design a couples journal that felt very approachable, a little tool for a joint analog and mindful ritual.

If you decide to make it part of your routine, I’m genuinely happy it found its way to your home!
